St. John's Legacy | St. John's College Archives

The Farewell Night was an annual event organised by the Students' Association in the end of the academic year for the graduating residents. These booklets were published for this event. They contain passages or articles written by the graduating residents to express their feelings on the occasion of their departure, and photographs of their lives in the College.

Photo taken at the entrance steps of the College. Alexander Kwan recounted the story that, as part of a prank, a few St. Johnians once lifted Canon Martin's car (a Morris Minor, parked to the right of these steps) and moved it up to the platform shown in this photo. The benevolent Canon Martin did not scold those pranksters. He simply asked them to return the car to the road.
