History

The College of St. John the Evangelist opened in 1955, and was formally created by statute as a body corporate in 1956. It is an Anglican college within the University of Hong Kong which provides residence to undergraduates and postgraduates. It succeeded St. John's Hall and St. Stephen's Hall, the two Anglican attached hostels of the University. The College is governed by the Council and administered by the Master and Fellows.
